Arts Are Elementary invites Maine artists to submit original artwork to Brunswick’s 10x10 Benefit Art Exhibit & Sale. This is a fun and easy way to show and market your work locally while supporting a good cause for the arts. Hundreds of people attend the show and will see your work - at the previews, on the evening of the event, and at the extended sale the next morning.
IMPORTANT CHANGES AND NEWS FOR 2017
This year the 10x10 will not be supplying frames. All work may be submitted framed or not, at the artist's discretion, with the following caveats:
Each piece must have a hanger on the back. Works without hangers will not be shown.
If you choose to frame your piece, frames should add no more than a total ½ inch to the outside dimension of the piece (e.g., an 8x10 inch piece may measure up to 8 ½ x 10 ½ inches when framed). We will not be set up to hang large frames!
We will again auction the winning pieces in the Publicity Contest.
With the introduction of various sizes of work, our pricing structure has changed somewhat. 8x10s and 10x10s will sell for $200; 12x12s will sell for $250; and 12x24s will sell for $300. All prices plus tax.
If sold, artists will receive 50%, and the remaining 50% will benefit Arts Are Elementary.
We will hold the main event on Friday, September 22, 2016 from 6 - 8 p.m. This year, we will extend Exhibit and Sales time into Saturday morning, with unsold piece pick-up later in the day. Stand by for details.
As this is a FUND RAISER, in 2017, we will be charging $5.00 admission to help defray our event and food costs.
Venue Assignments by Name
In past years artists' work was sorted by last name in the two venues. We anticipate we will do the same this year, with the first half of the alphabet beginning in Curtis Library and the last half in the Parish Hall.
Why Do Artists Apply?

Your participation in this annual event supports the work of Arts Are Elementary, a non-profit that inspires more than 1000 student artists every year by providing area artists with paid residencies in every single elementary school class in Brunswick.
We think this is a win-win for arts and our children in our town.
