For Our Buyers
The Annual Brunswick 10x10 Art Show and Sale is sponsored by and is the primary fund-raiser for Arts Are Elementary (AAE).
AAE is a local non-profit which works closely with Brunswick elementary schools to expose our children to the enrichment of arts education.
The annual show and sale of original art submitted by Maine artists is a popular, fun, and highly successful event. The artwork can be previewed online before the event, and then in person at Curtis Library and St John Episcopal church for two days before the actual sale.
All the work is divided alphabetically by artist last name. Works are hung organized by last name and split between the Curtis Library and the Parish Hall venues. Specifics of the alphabetical split are posted closer to the event.
As this is our primary fundraiser, we have been exploring ways to balance our financial return with the large amount of work this event requires and our growing funding requirements. This exploration -- which included a survey of our artists and outreach to our buyers -- has led to several changes:
After nine years of selling only 10x10 works at $200 each, in 2017 to celebrate your 10th anniversary, we are branching out in new directions with new sizes and new prices, extending sales into the following morning (Saturday), adding a silent auction of various media and crafts, and charging $5 admission for the event.
For 2017, artists will be allowed to submit work in 4 sizes: 8x10, 10x10, 12x12 and 12x24. The 8x10's and 10x10's will remain at $200. The 12x12's will be $250, and the 12x24s will be $300. All prices plus tax. Proceeds will continue to be split between the artist and AAE.
We hope this will generate new excitement and enthusiasm as it also stimulates even more competition for buyers to get the most popular pieces. Click here for tips on how to purchase artwork at the show.
