How to Purchase Artwork at the 10x10 Event in 5 Simple Steps

We sell the 10x10 artwork right off the walls on the evening of the event.  The exciting and often competitive buying action takes place quickly.  So if find one or more pieces online, or at one of our two previews, that you love and must have, here are some tips on how to successfully buy those pieces . . . and, in the process support Arts Are Elementary!

And don't forget to follow our Silent Auction, at which we shall be selling the top 3 winners of our Publicity Contest.  You can bid on these three outstanding pieces online and/or by written bid on the evening of the event.  The gavel will come down at the event around 8 pm.  The Silent Auction also benefits Arts Are Elementary, so as we say, "Bid high, bid often"!

1. Preview the Artwork
Preview the artwork online and/or in person at the public previews

Thursday, September 21, 2016 from 6-8 p.m.
Friday, September 22, 2016 from 12-3 p.m.

2. Locate the Venue(s) of Your Favorite Piece(s)
Determine in which venue(s) your choice(s) hang. We divide the artwork alphabetically by artist in both the Morrell Meeting Room at Curtis Memorial Library and the Parish Hall at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.  The alphabetical break will be announced closer to the event.

Approximately 1/3 of the art will hang at Curtis.
Approximately 2/3 of the art will hang at the Parish Hall.

If you are looking for a particular artist’s work,  go to that venue.

Please note that within each venue the work is not necessarily hung strictly alphabetically.

3. Get to Your Venue Early
Doors open at 6 p.m. sharp, and lines start forming earlier. We have seen the line begin to form as early as 4:30 pm.  When the doors open at 6 p.m., go directly to the wall where the piece you want is hanging.

4. Stand by Your Art
Stand by your art piece and raise your hand. One of our assistants will come over , take your piece(s) off the wall and escort you to the cashier. We accept cash, checks or credit cards.

NEW IN 2017:
8x10 and 10x10 artwork is priced at $200 plus tax.
12x12 artwork is $250 plus tax
12x24 artwork is $300 plus tax.

5. Want More Than One Piece? Or You Can't Attend? Get a Proxy.

If you know ahead of time that you want more than one piece in the same venue, simply ask the assistant to follow you to collect that second, or third, piece before going to the cashier.  Or, you can buy your initial choice(s) and continue looking.  If  you find another piece, just repeat the process in Step 4.

And . . . If you also know ahead of time that you want a second (or third, etc) piece in the other venue, we recommend you ask a friend or family member be your proxy. Have your proxy stand by your choice(s) and go through the purchase process.  Be sure to sort our payment ahead of time with your proxy. Checks are made out to AAE/10x10.

Having a proxy is also essential if you cannot attend the event and you've found a must have work of art online or at the previews.
